Kaputar mornings with the Wards & the Hampsteads.

Nobody in Narrabri needs an introduction to the Ward family, do they?

We all know Brendon ‘Wardy’ Ward by now, I am sure? Our very own rockstar who’s been enteraining many of us for over a decade with his amazing voice and extremely cheeky and charismatic personality.  His legend parents, Peter and Lynne? Beautiful Ash?

Well, look, just in case you don’t know this fam - let me tell you how awesome they are.

So the family expanded in recent years and now includes Wardy’s wife, Jack, their baby boy, Huxley, and - Ash’s husband David and their baby girl, Amelie.

I haven’t previously had the chance to get to know Jacki, but, now that I have - I can fully appreciate why Wardy snuck off into the horizon and wed this hilarious, warm, sassy New York gal, and dragged her back to the ‘Bri. She is a total breath of fresh air, and was my key helper in organising our session. GREAT job, Jack. Thank you!

I had never previously met Ash, Dave and Amelie, either. (You would actually think Ash and Jack are real sisters. They share the same beautiful positive outlook and sense of humour).

And again, I was treated to not only a morning with these guys, but was invited to join them for a nice relaxing breakfast later. I officially love this entire family. I kind of want them to adopt me.

Morning shoots are really nice in terms of light - but always tricky because most of the planet - me included - is still waking up. But we had to run with an a.m. session due to lack of other options. And in the end, it was great in every way.

You HAVE to know, before we proceed, that the whole white and denim colour scheme thing? TOTAL, total, TOTAL unintented scenario.  Anybody who follows my blogs knows that I have a strict ban on cheesy matchy-matchy photo-sessions. It’s one of my golden rules. And, that’s why the Wards got me. Because they’re casual, and I am casual. And that’s the way we like it!

So, therefore, you can imagine how freakin’ hilarious it was when everyone started piling out of cars at sunrise, rubbing their eyes, only to finally work out that an accidental uniform of white and denim, had, in fact, occured. We kind of all made the realisaton, blinked stupidly into the sunlight at the same time, and then started roaring with laughter. SO good.

And as I said when I shared their group photo: I thereby declare this photo session exempt from my ‘matchy-matchy’ sledge-hammer, because it was a natural occurrence, and not staged.

HAHAHA. Truly. Would you even read about this?

I can’t tell you how delightful this whole family is. You’ll just have to hang out with them one day and see for yourself.

This shoot was in honour of what used to be ‘home’ on the Kaputar Road, where Pete grew up. It’s now being passed on for a future dream for some other extremely fortunate humans. I would live out there if I could. It is so lovely.

And that’s why our backdrop is what it is. We have the old farm-house/cottage, sheds, and surrounds.

Enjoy, Wardies, Hampsteads, and little people.

I wish you a Christmas of blessings and loads of love.

Thanks for the breakfast and the epic chats.

Please can I be your BFF forever?
