Here's to resilience, love, and Mr & Mrs Carruthers.

It would be an understatement to say that the two beautiful newlyweds in this gallery of smiles and laughter are a fabulous and resilient and remarkable young couple.

Those of you who were as fortunate as me to be there and witness their wedding recently in Moree know the multitude of reasons there are to admire these guys and indeed their entire extended families.

As I sat here this week going through these images, I was grinning like crazy all over again. I found myself shaking my head constantly and thinking ‘’nobody looking at these smiles would have a clue what an exceptionally tough period these families have just faced.’’

And that’s why I fell so in very much in love with the Morrisons and Carruthers in Moree. Talk about an amazing example in how to choose a smile and a positive attitude to go ahead through life as it happens.

Despite the weather doing its best to create havoc at the last hour (literally) we all somehow snuck through the critical parts and even got blessed by some EPIC dramatic skies for our troubles!

(Which; as any photographer would tell you is actually a great thing!)

It goes without saying that Ingrid was an absolutely BREATHTAKING bride … and I honestly adored her traditional and ultra-feminine dress and hair. She was just radiant, and her smile was way bigger and brighter than any cheeky sideways-scuds, storms, and showers that may have interfered with play on the day :)

Charlie’s beaming smile was a close second. Nah, actually, make that an equal best.

I absolutely take my hat off to you guys for everything you pulled off - and for being the legends you are.

Seriously, try not to smile like a kid as you look through these … they’re just awesome, natural, joyful moments.

What I am so thankful for is that Ingrid & Charlie agreed wholeheartedly with me to keep excessive posing and kidnapping of bridal parties to a bare, bare minimum – and we just rather rolled with the punches and worked with what we had on the day, on the spot, as it happened. Which is what I personally, if given the option, love best – because I believe a wedding day is about the bride and groom and their families first.

I just love that ‘my couples’ that I work with are so very much on board with this minimalist approach to their once-in-a-lifetime day, so that we can just get them and their families and besties back to the business of being real, and celebrating right alongside the people that matter most in their lives.

On that note, I would love to thank Charlie & Ingrid (obviously), Richard & Trish Carruthers, Ian & Sophia Morrison, ‘’Oma’’, Megan, Kristen, Allison, Alyson, Jessica, Amy, Courtney, Kristyna, and of course Damian, Peter, Greg, James, the amazing Aunts, Uncles, friends, family, and little Max! And I am no doubt missing somebody – so I do apologise. But I think you’re all amazing, and I hope I get to hang out with somebody somewhere else down the track.

Charlie & Ingrid: as your parents all shared in their speeches – you both have (in spades) what it takes to get through the good times, and the hard times.

I wish you a life of joy, happiness, and very cute babies some time. And thank you for letting me be the lady who got to capture this precious day.

Much love – Shanna XX

Here are a selection of snaps of the day as it unfolded.

ENJOY - and please feel free to share, borrow, etc. Just credit the photographer pretty please - heh heh. XX

**If you’re wondering why there are ‘garden  photos’ at one stage with ho humans in there, well, that’s because it rained immediately after the ceremony and we lost the chance to do those snaps. So in honour of Ingrid’s awesome Aunty and Uncle, I popped these in to show you how pretty their garden was on the day.
