I’ve been largely absent on the back-end of the Nikon lately. Life kinda’ took a major turn these last couple of years and as many of you know, while my (social impact) project ‘’Sober in the Country’’ demanded most of 2018, and sent me over half of Australia with speaking and ambassador stuff for rural Australia.
But let me tell you – it is really great to be back into creative life. REALLY great.
I probably didn’t realise how much I had missed it actually.
(Although, the break seems to have totally refreshed this part of my brain, so yay!)
To kick my summer photography back off with these guys was an absolute treat.
SO, on that note, world: I’d love to introduce Ed, Eloise, and Jimmy Harris – along with their three fur-kids (Ed’s trio of Kelpies) and one feline (Eloise’s ‘rebound’ cat, Mitzy).
I’ve actually known Eloise since she was a young thang, so to be part of documenting her in 2018 as the modern, vibrant, farm girl, wife and mother she is was something I’ll always treasure.
This shoot was actually for miss Eloise, who is celebrating her birthday this weekend. So on that note: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, gorgeous woman. And good work, Ed, for organising a gift that you will all treasure more and more as the years roll by. I promise to send the ‘projectile vomit’ shot later to file for future laughs when Jimmy’s a big boy.
But seriously - to have hung out and been on the sidelines of a morning in the life of this young couple was so divine. They are both very real, very loving and hands-on people and parents. It was breath of fresh air to watch them take turns managing their little man, and to hear about how family life is for them now.
Enjoy this priveleged glimpse into the lives of what a young farming couple looks like these days.
It’s pretty bloody gorgeous.
I feel sure that Ed and Eloise could both get part-time gigs with RB Sellars or RM Williams in a heartbeat – because to me this could be a photo essay for either of those brands.
Thanks for having me, guys. You’re amazing, and also ridiculously good-looking.
